Achetez une Z1 1972 : Sell a low serial number Z1

1973 Kawasaki serial# 00178. This extremely early Z1 was built in September of 1972 and likely came off of the assembly line during the first few days of production. The machine has undergone a total restoration from the crankshaft on up. Every part of this machine has been 100% dismantled and restored. OEM parts have been used wherever possible.

This bike retains all of the rare original features including press in cylinder head vacuum fittings, fork legs with raised bosses, correct instrumentation including straight #7 on the tachometer, chain oiler, early paint shade on a correct original small emblem tank. The tank is a factory part, not a reproduction, black seat foam and more.

All of the fasteners have been re-plated or replaced. The bolt heads have either no markings or have the correct letter 4 or 7 as built. All electrics are new including a NOS voltage regulator and rectifier. The wiring and ignition coils are replacement aftermarket parts.

The chassis was fully stripped and the frame powder coated a correct shade of satin black. All other black brackets and parts have received the same. All chassis bearings, bushings and rubber parts have been replaced. The brake master cylinder and brake hose junction block were black anodized as per original. OEM hoses are used on the front brake as well as the correct ribbed brake hose rubber protector. Fenders are new old stock originals.

Date codes are correct on wheels, brake rotor, etc. Spokes are zinc plated as were the originals. The rear tire is a NOS Dunlop K87 (correct) and the front is a Dunlop F11 (original impossible to find in decent condition).

Correct non-ribbed carburetors were stripped to bare bodies and cleaned in ultrasonic cleaner. Original bright work parts have been re-plated and any crucial parts replaced. The fuel petcock is an original Kawasaki item correct for this year Z1. Fuel lines are black non-ribbed hoses.

The engine is serial number 00151. While unusual to have the engine number preceed the frame number, this has been documented as factory correct on very early Z1 bikes (see Z1 Enterprises web site on engine and frame numbers). Engine stripped to its last parts. Crankshaft completely disassembled and inspected. Bore is stock and straight with stock pistons and new rings. All cam chain parts are new as well as the valve guides. Cases, cylinder and head are powder coated to original satin finish. All bolts and nuts correct. Transmission and clutch were in excellent condition and other than cleaning were left alone. Has early style “no baffle” oil pan. The exhaust system was replaced with a new reproduction set from Sudco. The engine runs flawlessly and shifts through all the gears effortlessly.

Meters were restored by a gentleman in Japan who was the only person I have found who could make the faces correct for a very early Z1. They are the nicest I have ever seen and cost nearly $1000 to have done.

The machine was entered in the Arizona Antique Motorcycle Club show in April of 2012 where it won 1st place in its class. It has zero miles on it since restoration and has been run only on my dyno to make certain the engine run properly and the transmission shifted well. Gas has never been put in the tank and current carbs and brake system are drained for long term storage.

Any questions about this bike can be directed to me at my shop, EastSide Performance in Mesa Arizona.

My phone number is 480-649-4440.

My name is TJ Jackson and I have been working on Kawasaki Z1 motorcycles since they were new having started my motorcycle career in a Kawasaki shop in Scottsdale Arizona in the 1970’s. You can visit my web site at eastsideperformancemotorcycles.com

I have hundreds of clear pictures of this bike from start to finish and will happily discuss any phase of the restoration with a serious buyer. I restored this bike for a gentleman in Minnesota whose father had the bike supposedly since new. The owner intended to keep it in his office forever but recently decided to move on to a different project. Here is a great opportunity to own one of the best and earliest Z1 bikes.

Payment terms will be by bank wire transfer or in cash. Wire transfers take 24 hours to clear the local bank. A 1000.00 non-refundable deposit will be required at the end of the auction and full payment within 7 days. Please don’t ask the reserve, just bid what you are willing to pay. I will gladly help with shipping arrangements. Bike can be crated for an additional fee.

Welcome to the EastSide Performance e-bay sales department. We are a small home grown motorcycle shop in Mesa Arizona specializing in performance and restoration work on all makes and models of motorcycles. We have been in business since 1981 so rest assured that we are not a fly by night operation. We are real motorcycle shop with a real address and a yellow page ad so we are not some clowns selling stuff out of their garage.

Our physical address is:

EASTSIDE PERFORMANCE INC

343 S. Davis St.

Mesa AZ 85210

or see us at:

eastsideperformancemotorcycles.com

Most of our parts we sell are used take off items or overstocks that we are blowing out. We do our best to accurately describe the items we sell. We try to take good pictures. If you are unclear about what you are buying, please ask before bidding. We will gladly take phone calls at 480-649-4440 about items and answer any intelligent questions. Please note that a used part is exactly that...USED. It is not new. It if has a significant flaw we will try to describe it. Most people have found that our items are better than described (look at our feedback!!).

OK, here are the rules. If you bid you are expected to pay. If you don't, we will send a non paying bidder complaint and give negative feedback so don't play if you can't pay. Most of our auctions are scheduled to end on Sunday evening. We are closed on Mondays so the earliest ship date will be on Tuesday. If your payment comes in early, you are the first in line to get your item shipped. If you drag your feet, it won't go out until at least the following work day after payment is received.

A word about shipping: We do not control freight prices. The price listed on the freight calculator is done through e-bay so don't bid and then ask for cheaper freight. We sell a lot of items and won’t play games negotiating shipping charges. We send tracking numbers out to your e-mail that you provide. If you are wondering where your part is, track it first. Sometimes tracking e-mails go into your spam or junk mail file. Look there first please. If you can't find it we will send it again. We pack everything well. If a part is damaged, we submit the claim to the shipper. Payment is the responsibility of the shipper so in the rare event of a damaged or lost part, you will have to wait until UPS or The Post Office pays up.

NOTE!!! UPS INSURES THE FIRST $100 OF THE ITEM. THE POST OFFICE CHARGES FOR ANY INSURANCE. IF YOU WANT THE PART INSURED YOU MUST ASK FOR IT. IT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE ITEM PRICE (except for $100 on UPS)

Regarding returns: Unless the item is grossly misrepresented (this has not happen before) there are no refunds. In the event of a return, the freight will not be refunded. I have no way to get it back. Please ask questions about the products first. In the event of a problem, please contact us immediately and we will do the best we can to resolve the issue.

We gladly ship overseas. You must have a confirmed PayPal address. Payment must be by PayPal.
